Here I would like to share about Homeless / Gypsy community in Pakistan. The community of gypsy / homeless people is growing all over Pakistan special in southern Punjab. A few families in their community are daily wage laborers but most of them rely on begging as their main source of income. They think having more kids mean more helping hands in income but extremely poor living condition, without electricity, clean water, education, good health, and any kind of profession or technical training for kids to get any job. These people are socially and politically disregarded and demoted. A few of them have traditional profession like drum beating and monkey shows. They are also deprived of the most basic rights, of opportunities to get jobs to earn, education because of social race system in Pakistan. They are facing problems of life like no electricity, clean and pure water, food, clothes, shoes, roof to live to be save from hot, cold, weather, stormy, and rainy seasons , with so many other problem. These people have no hope of good future for their children.
God’s Fellowship Ministries of Pakistan have vision to reach to outreach communities, tribes, in countryside areas in Pakistan. This is one of the outreach communities with hundreds of problems in their lives.
We are praying that God increase our prayers and financial partners to stand with us for this mission project to reach them. Our goal is to reach these people with the love of God to give them hope of life with gifts of clothes, shoes, food package during this covid-19 so they can keep feeding their children and see the love of God through His people on this earth.
Our team is trying to reach and help these people according to the bible. Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 22:9 The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.
Our ministry team in Pakistan got opportunity to visit 6 gypsies/homeless tent colonies of gypsy. 5-8 people live in one tent. They said each Colony have about 25-30 tents and about 170 tents in all 6 colonies in Narrowal city. There are so many more, but team is building relationship with one colony at a time.
Our team could not find any individual with basic education even primary school education among these people in 6 gypsies /homeless tent colonies. We are praying to start to give education to their children and basic education to adults too.
